Dirigée par un grand-père maître-percussionniste, véritable patriarche d’une dynastie d’instrumentistes, The Alaev Family présente sur scène pas moins de trois générations de musiciens dans une ferveur digne des grands rassemblements populaires tadjiks. Désormais implantée à Tel Aviv mais puisant ses racines dans la culture du Tadjikistan et celle de la communauté juive de Boukhara en Asie Centrale, cette saga familiale se nourrit au gré de ses itinérances des influences klezmer, ottomane, indienne ou tsigane. Leur musique résonne alors comme un énergique éloge de la fête, croisant polyrythmies et mélodies mélismatiques sur un tempo frénétique. Jubilatoire.
The Alaev family performs on stage with no less than 3 generations of instrumentalists. At the head of this dynasty is a Maestro-percussionist grand-father. Their music reinvents the great popular gatherings of the tadjiks. Now settled in Tel Aviv, the family's musical influences vary depending on their travels : dipping into their origins in Tadjikistan culture and the Jewish community of Boukhara in Central Asia, they have picked up influences of Klezmer, Ottoman, Indian and Gypsy music along the way. Their sounds are a lively tribute to the party atmosphere with a blend of melismatic melodies played to a wild tempo. A real joy !
