As a young Israeli born in Iran, the singer Rita has managed to make a place for herself with her sheer enthusiasm and joyful world-pop music, thus creating a link between 2 hostile countries that are renowned for their tense diplomatic relationship. Her Persian ethno-pop songs can be heard everywhere on the streets in Iran which won her the nickname of 'Israeli Madonna'. She sings in English, Hebrew and Persian: a symbol of multiculturalism and of cultural mix between people. Elected best female Israeli artist, she then went on to become a true icon and a symbol of peace.
