Following in the steps of her father and master of music Alim Qâsimov who is an emeritus figure of Azerbaïdjan culture, Fargana Qâsimov is a vibrant singer of the mugham: this traditional and subtle genre of music that belongs to the Azeri people/culture. Her high-pitched voice follows the movements of the music created by the târ (11-string lute) and the kamânche (4-string fiddle) swaying from spectacular vocals to delicate melodies in deeply moving improvisations. From profane to sacred the singer reveals the soul of the Azeri cultural heritage with grace and poetry.
