Music and culture from land of OC
More and more, issues of language and culture from the Oc region are playing a crucial part at the heart of society, whether it be through discussions around artistic and cultural issues or debates around sustainable growth and politics. One has to wonder what place language and culture occupy in the entertainment world, particularly when putting together a world music festival. What do the public, the artistic circle and the people in charge of programming think of the artists from the Oc region ? What are the reasons why there are so few nowadays in the world of art and culture ? What place does Occitane creation occupy in the current diverse artistic reality ? And can we really talk about an « Oc » artistic scene in the World ? In France ? Or even in the Oc region itself ?

Sustainable growth : what is the situation regarding the eco-responsibility of festivals in provence-alpes-côte d’azur ?
Over 650 festivals are organised throughout the year in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, bringing several thousand tourists to the region. This incredible cultural, social and economic wealth has impacts on the environment.
In order to help, two structures have been put into place :
- AER which was created along the guidelines of the State-Region-ADEME agreement, is responsible for the support of eco-responsible festivals.
- AGIR, which was created by the governing body of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, offers a financial support framework to organisations who want to become eco-responsible.
This conference is the ideal opportunity to catch up with these two structures and to measure how much has been achieved through them.

Do the jazz festivals and venues in the Mediterranean Region and in europe reflect a vitality that is specific to this music market ?
« It is a well-known fact that jazz is heavily influenced by black and traditional music. Contemporary music has on several occasions echoed jazz music. Jazz is making a huge come-back and its soul flows from concert to concert and festival to festival. Summer/winter festivals and music events, concert venues, jazz school, precious musical moments, etc... This round-table discussion’s aim is to look over all of these and take stock, to imagine a ‘Jazz Babel’ together and come up with an idea for a professional jazz music market. »
