Maloya from Reunion, telluric and bewitching, is doing very well. This musical style of ternary trances, heir to the singing of slaves; once prohibited is now classified since 2009 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, continues to reveal its islander gold nuggets. Symbol of this vitality, Simangavole led by five singers/musicians, establish as the latest jewel emerged from the island of Reunion. From the beauty of their vocal harmonies, the volcanic power of their stage performances and a subtle balance between heritage and modernity, this female ensemble releases the sweet and captivating scent of Indian Ocean celebrations.
